💾 Client packages

Your tools, already converted.

The world got new names, so stock client data would get you lost by the second street. These packages carry the MugenMUD names, room codes, paths and stats, so auto-walking, looping and lookups just work.

MegaMud 2.2 for MugenMUD

A complete MegaMud 2.2 install with its game data (the Default folder) rebuilt for MugenMUD. It's its own folder, so it won't touch any MegaMud you already have.

Windows. Unzip and run, nothing to install.

What's inside

  • Rooms.md: the room list with MugenMUD names. Shops, banks, trainers and bosses are flagged, so Goto shows them with icons, and boss rooms stop you outside so you can rest first.
  • Paths and loops: re-coded for every renamed and re-laid-out room, with the path index to match.
  • Races.md and Classes.md: all 17 races with their level-80 stats, EXP and abilities; the Bloodsworn and Dancer.
  • Monsters, Items, Spells: built from the realm itself, under their new names and with the realm's stats.
  • New hunting spots: the Breakwater, Hollowmere Quarry, Lantern Row Rooftops, the Wreckers' Crawl, Weeping Fens, the Cinder Glade, Lychgate Vaults, the Drowned Chapel and the Splinters, each with a path in and a ready-made loop.

Setting up MegaMud

  1. Unzip into a folder of its own, for example C:\MegaMud-MugenMUD. Don't copy it over an existing MegaMud folder.
  2. Run megamud.exe from that folder.
  3. Point it at the server: host mugenmud.net, port 2374, telnet.
  4. Log in (type NEW the first time to register), then let MegaMud read your stat screen so it picks up your race and class.
  5. Use Goto to walk anywhere by its MugenMUD name. Paths for the new hunting spots start from the nearest room MegaMud already knew.
Good to know MegaMud recognises your own Bloodsworn or Dancer from your stat screen, but it can't guess other players' new class titles from the WHO list. Custom spells have no cast-message entries yet. And per rule 9: the package doesn't include every spot. The best off-path hunting is yours to find and path yourself.

MugenMUD data for MudPlay

MudPlay is a modern client that finds its way by room number from a game-data set. Our set is written straight from the live realm, so the renamed areas and custom content show up correctly. No .mdb import step needed.

MudPlay is made by its own author; grab the client from its GitHub page.

What's inside

One JSON file per table in the MMUD Explorer layout: Info, Rooms, Monsters, Items, Spells, Classes, Races, Shops, TBInfo and Lairs. The set is marked as stock formulas, which is what the engine uses.

Rooms, exits, classes, races, shops, spells and text blocks were checked field by field against MMUD Explorer's own stock data. Monster hit chance and average damage are modelled from the attack tables, usually within a point or two.

Setting up MudPlay

  1. Install MudPlay from its GitHub page.
  2. Unzip our game data into MudPlay's game-data folder, so you end up with %LOCALAPPDATA%\MudPlay\game data\MugenMUD\. Paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\MudPlay into Explorer's address bar to get there.
  3. In MudPlay, open Game Data and pick MugenMUD.
  4. Connect to mugenmud.net port 2374.
  5. When we post a content update on the Discord, download the set again and unzip it over the old one.
